🚐 Why We Chose RV Life

We’re Vern and Kati—youngish empty nesters who call our RV home. We like to say we’re semi-retired, but really, we’re just choosing to live life a little differently.

This wasn’t a wild, spontaneous leap for us. It actually felt like coming home.

You see, we lived full-time in an RV once before—back when we were raising our four kids. For nine amazing years, our home had wheels and the open road was our backyard. We made memories across the country, and those were some of the best years of our lives.

Eventually, we settled down again, bought a house, and finished raising our kids. And now, all four of them are grown, married, and building beautiful families of their own. Once we reached that “empty nest” stage, we looked at each other and said, Why not do it again?

So, we did.

We sold our businesses, climbed back into an RV, and hit the road again—this time as two empty nesters, chasing the next chapter of our adventure.

But this journey is about more than travel. It’s about choosing to live fully.

Kati has faced some serious health challenges in recent years, and it really hit us: life is short. Too short to wait for retirement. Too short to keep putting off the bucket list we made in our twenties. So we stopped waiting. And we started living.

We’ve spent the last two years exploring, reconnecting, and crossing things off that old list—like visiting all 50 states (yep, we did it!).

Now, we travel not just for ourselves, but to encourage others. Empty nesters, dreamers, RV lovers—whoever you are, we want you to know it’s not too late. You don’t have to wait for the “right time” to start living the life you dream of.

If we’ve learned anything, it’s this: you don’t need to retire to start living. You just need to begin.

Follow along with our journey as we cross off our bucket list and live the life we love. We’re so excited to have you here and hope we can inspire you to live your dream life—no matter what it looks like for you.
